I never claim to have "wonderful new insights"... in fact, I can't claim to have any insights at all...
Did you have any wonderful new insights to share with the rest of us?
JD, did you get that music yet?
I could probably help, but only until school starts. Once school starts, I seriously doubt I will have any time to do anything but work and study. Part of that is due to the swim team I am head coach for merging with another team and there are a lot of technicalities to work out. Of course, i will try to be as supportive as I can possibly be, but I'm just warning you about the limitations of that support. So, yes, I will help as much as I can, but once I can't anymore, JD will have to take over.
Ok, well I can accept that. However, I don't trust myself enough to get it done and get it done right. So I will need someone keeping an eye over my shoulder to make sure it gets done. I want to have at least the music list it done by mid-September for as much music as we have so far, which gives me only 3 weeks or so. Zeb, you finish Maple Scholars soonish. Could you help me? Or JD, you could, if I don't have things done by the time you get back here. I can format the lists and enter the data, but as far as a few things on the list, such as "Performances played in/to be played in" I will need help with that since, even though JD explained it to me at dinner once, and Zeb and JD both explained it to me once, I think there's a diagram I have to look at since I know I'll still get it wrong. And it would probably go faster if I could have someone read me the data. The only thing is I need to wait a week for my dad to get back to CO from IA at the end of the week, then wait for him to get the program. So, I'm saying I accept the position, as long as I have support helping me when I need to cause it can't be a long process otherwise it won't get done. Any one jumping to help me? I offer the benefit of working with a person who will give you hugs :)
I nominate Meryl to be official book-keeper and record-keeper since she has the computer program and knows how to work it. Any seconds????
So, in my job we're working with this thing called File Maker Pro. It's our new best friend. My dad can get the program for pretty cheap, since he's a teacher, and so I intend on installing it on my computer. With this amazing program, we can create databases for music (including instrumentation and everything else we want), databases for the kids that are coming for the percussion weekend (we'll need a list anyway), and even a database for the GC percussion ensemble as well. Ok I need to get back to work. JD, if you send music before school starts, be sure to put "DO NOT BEND" on it, cause otherwise they will try to fold it into my box (I'm not bitter). Hope you are all having a great summer!
Meryl
